What happened to our blog? We haven’t posted anything in what seems like forever. Our bad. How is everyone?
I need to apologize right now if you were looking for a deep, meaningful, well thought out blog. This probably isn’t it. This blog probably will not be making any sense or have any real theme or flow. It’s really just gonna be sporadic ramblings of whatever pops in my head…this is kate by the byyyyyy
My new favorite drink to blend up in my magic bullet has been a Kefir based smoothie. Nothing fancy but you blend:
-Ice
-1/3 of a cup Kefir (any flavor–I prefer strawberry)
-Handful of grapes
-Handful of blueberries
-4 strawberries
Put all of that and a splash of water into a blender or magic bullet and woop-tee-doo you have yourself a refreshing little smoothie drink. Not too sweet…quite delicious if you ask me.
I have this new found respect for whats-her-face…umm…Emma Stone. Isn’t she just the sassiest thing around right now? And she has 2 movies out right now? WHAT? Who does that? She does. I loved Crazy, Stupid, Love and I think I will really enjoy The Help which was sold out last night or else I would have seen that instead of Crazy, Stupid, Love again.
I saw Bon Iver in concert a few weeks ago at the Ryman.

It was an amazing show. I’ve never seen a show where there are two full drum kits on stage the entire time and they were both played the whole time. Great musicianship and their songs put you into a perfect comfy-hypnotic bliss. It was great. Later that evening was not so great…had a near death experience…which is an entirely different blog…but I made it…so no need to worry
Last week I had the same really vivid dream twice. Random. I always think that’s weird.

Went to NYC last week to celebrate our good friend Ashley’s birthday. Bradley Cooper’s face was on a cake–so that made it grand! We also went up the Empire State Building. I was looking for Cary Grant (which by the way did you know his real name was Archibald Alexander Leach?) or Tom Hanks but nope. Didn’t find my love at the top of the building..but let me tell you…if you find yourself at the top of that building around midnight you’ll stumble across many a couple making out….kinda funny.
I made those muffins the other day…banana nut. Pretty good. But the kicker is cutting it in four pieces…smearing butter on all sides and then grilling it in a frying pan. Yup. Next level.
I love this bracelet. That’s all.
Love this quote from Mother Teresa: ”Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
I have been trying to use less exclamation points while writing. I think I use them too often. Well, Jill will often point out that my exclamation use is somewhat over the top. I mean, I didn’t really see this as a problem..maybe I’m just an over-enthusiastic person? Haha. In any text I send or email I write I like to put two or three !!! here and there and I guess that’s not appropriate behavior. Who knew?
Have I ever shared with you my deep love for movie theater popcorn? It’s maybe the longest love relationship I’ve ever been in. It rarely disappoints. I never see a movie without it. Never.
Okay…this is a lot of nonsense rambling. Hope everyone is having a delightful Sunday.

Awesome blog! and love the random thoughts and have to say that exclamations are great its a good way to end most statements and they cannot be over used!!!
Also im curious about this near death i hope that blog is soon.

I share that deep love affair with movie theater popcorn. Hope you don’t mind. It’s not cheating on you, really. There’s plenty of it to go around.

I am also madly in love with movie theatre popcorn. Hold the butter, please. Emma Stone is quite fabulous. It could be because she’s from Arizona, and we tend to to be fabulous people. I loved Crazy, Stupid, Love! The story played out so well and every actor did a great job. Thanks for the magic bullet recipe- I don’t use it enough. I tend to really just use it when I want a margarita at my house..
Oh and also, I use too many exclamation points. I feel that they add a little something extra-like excitement an happiness, in addition to expressing anger, which I try not to express too often.

I’m glad I read this, because I don’t remember you telling me about any of this stuff when I saw you earlier!!!! (wait I shouldn’t do that exclamation point thingy, huh?)

A bunch of rambling responses to your rambling thoughts. Yup.
-I haven’t made anything too shwild with my Magic Bullet…only milkshakes, root beer floats, etc. Maybe you’ve inspired me to go more extreme? We’ll see! haha.
-Emma Stone is the shit. Simple enough. I was especially impressed with Easy A. I got a pocket…I got a pocket…
-I’d love to see Bon Iver live. I’ve seen them on TV and was SO IMPRESSED. So I envy you… PS: glad you’re alive
-Is it weird that I live right outside of NYC and have never been to the EMP, Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island? But in my defense, do people go to their city’s tourist areas? I don’t know, maybe they do and I’m weird.
-Love tha bling.
-Movie popcorn is the best and sometimes you need to indulge in the extra butter

It has been awhile since the last J&K blog, but with all the ramblings here, it’s kind of like a bunch in one. Now, that near death experience definitely needs it’s own though, and I’m curious about this recurring dream you’ve had too. Thanks for checking in and sharing those and the other snippets. Hope you’re having a delightful Sunday too(!!!!!!!)

Kate, I don’t mind how random you are! and I am the same way. As for the movies, I love popcorn too, just it too damn expensive and Im a broke college kid. It is good though when I give in. The Help was absolutely amazing!! The movie is very true to the book, which is rare these days. My mom and I loved it!! I want to go see it again. I worked all day today, but am relaxing now. Hope you ladies are doing well!!

Wow, this is a lot of rambling but I love it! I missed your blogs! Love the randomness!
- I wanna see ‘Crazy,Stupid,Love. I haven’t seen it yet. Is it any good? I did however, see “The Help” and LOVED it! I really had no idea what it was about and I didn’t even read the book, but I still loved it!
-Love banana nut muffin and that bracelet is cute! Can I borrow it? haha jk
-About the exclamation points, I do the same thing. I don’t
know why. I also put a smiley faces at the end of a texts and tweets too. I guess it’s just a signature of mine.
Thanks again for the Birthday tweet, It really meant a lot! It really has been a great day!

Ok my responses in order….
I have no clue what Kefir is I will ask the Americans here I am sure they can tell me, but aside from that, the smoothie sounds gooood! Will try….when of course I find out what Kefir is.
Same vivid dream twice in a week? I had the same Vivid dream when I was younger repeatedly. Like seriously at least once a week……scary shiz!
Love Love Love Love NYC and the empire state building.
That bracelet is soooooooo pretty where’s it from?
Meh you can never ever have too many exclamation marks!! Don’t let anyone tell you elsewise, they just make things all the more exciting so that’s all good!
and I have had a delightful sunday, despite the rain here in NH. I got to work on my quote book with a group of awesome campers and we had the “ice cream social” which is always fun with the kiddos. Sunday’s are amazing days here.

I also enjoy movie theater popcorn. There’s something in it I swear. It’s so addicting.
I love the magic bullet commercials. They’re especially entertaining at 3am when you can’t sleep.
Emma Stone is kick butt. I would like to be her when I grow up…even if we’re the same age. Her and Jillian Michaels. Weird.
I use lots of exclaimation points. I didn’t know that was a party foul. My bad.

This could quite possibly be the BEST Ramblog… Rambleog? Randomog? Whichever, best I’ve read in quite a while!
I feel I tend to over use !!! in my texts/writings at times. It just shows excitement, nothing wrong with that!
August 14, 2011 at 11:31 pm |
You seem like an !!!!!!! kinda person, one who likes to get their point across. Not a bad thing.!!!!!
August 15, 2011 at 2:38 pm |

Kate, I think you need to buy Jill the “Glamour of Grammar.” I just finished reading it. And I quote, “the less serious the story, the more liberty you can take with !!!!!!!” I’m an ellipses abuser and darn proud…
Oh, and I still have never been to the top of the Empire State Building! I need to do that.

love the blog, and also love making smoothies, its a nice way to get my sons to ‘eat’ fruit & veggies….never heard of kefir though, I had to google that one…seems pretty rare here in the netherlands…..have a nice day both of you!

so usually im just a reader and not a repsonder but i have a few things to say this time!
1-extremely jealous you have a magic bullet! i’ve wanted one since the 7th grade
2-emma stone is my new favorite actress. i can quote all of Easy A.
3-i also use a ton of exclamation points (and smilies) i just feel like it livens it up a bit and sometimes putting just periods makes you seem grumpy! so im right there with you
