Mirror, Mirror

Randomly found this poem online and love it so decided to share.

“Mirror, Mirror”

A young spring-tender girl
combed her joyous hair
‘You are very ugly’ said the mirror.
But,
on her lips hung
a smile of dove-secret loveliness,
for only that morning had not
the blind boy said,
‘You are beautiful’?

This brings me back to the days of AP English when we had to analyze practically everything we read, lol…kind of made me hate poetry for a while. I’d spend the whole night ripping my hair out trying to figure out what they heck they were talking about 😛 .I actually kind of like this one though, it’s easy to understand 🙂

Hope you’re having fun in England! I’ve never been there before (which is kind of funny considering most of my family lives there)

i’m a math teacher, so is the poem about inner beauty? i think it is. if i’m wrong don’t tell me. ha ha as a teacher i see a lot of young people who are beautiful on the outside but not so pretty on the inside. i wonder what happens to those people when the pretty wears off?

i wish i was in london. never been. i think i may go with our French class next summer. have fun. enjoy it. tennessee just isn’t the same without ya’ll.

I like the poem. You guys should add more poetry every now and then. Well, if you find any other good ones. Hope y’all have fun in England, although I think y’all should come back to the US, and more specifically to the South. 🙂
