Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010.

December 31, 2009

A new year. A new beginning. Lovely.

However, just because this grand 31 days of blogging will come to an end…have no fear…blogs will not be obsolete in 2010. Woohoo!! True story.

To kick off the new year, we are listening to you…that’s right, you. You’ve asked and we’re going to answer.

We’ve created an email account just for you, yes you.

We have gotten a few LOTS of letters/messages/comments asking us questions of ALL different colorful sorts and we want to answer. So…you, yes you, email us your question before January 7th and we will answer the questions (in no particular order) in upcoming blogs in 2010.

Who’s excited? You are. We are.

We have been writing fools the last couple of days. Yes, writing fools. So excited about the new songs. Weeeee!

So that’s the dealio.

As 2010 enters in, make some goals for yourself…easy goals. #1 on everyone’s goal list should be waking up tomorrow. Haha. Then cross it off your list and you will feel more accomplished. Someone wise once said…lower the bar. Don’t make unreachable goals. Push yourself, but not too hard. Haha.

Laugh. Cry. Kick. Scream. Hug. Breathe. Dance. Shine. Love. Risk. Ask. Answer. Pray. Thank. Give. Take. Be.

Thanks so much for coming to the blog, coming to shows, wearing your t-shirts, showing your support…it means the WORLD to us and we are so glad that we get to make music…thanks for listening.

Here’s to a New Year with ya’ll. 2010, bring it on!!

Room 46F…aka…our dressing room for the day at American Idol.

The Tonight Show before it ended!

The night we brought back the side-pony.

Ellen 2009!

Kate loves Germany…it is the place of her birth, after all.

Do you know the way to San Jose?

Kate and Edward chillin’ outside the dressing room. Deep conversations.

Where history was made. The best show on earth.

Yet another American Idol dressing room. This time it was lucky 13.

We’ve discovered the world’s smallest travel game.

Travel Boggle on a keychain.

2009 from A-Z…

December 28, 2009

So, we have been all over the country…and world this year so we thought we’d play a little game called A-Z. We will list one place we’ve been for every letter of the alphabet. It might be a city, a country, or a state, or if we got stuck…a restaurant! haha. A-Z is fun to play with all sorts of topics…especially when you’re on a long road trip or…in a really boring class…or need a blog topic after 27 straight days of blogging. haha.

So here it goes:

Baden Baden
Essex Junction
Hong Kong
Jack in the Box (got a little stuck there…)
New York
Qdoba (again…stuck, but great burritos!)
Tennessee (!)
X-(what really starts with X anyway?? let’s go with…teXas! for 25 points, Bob.)

Feel free to join the fun and try your own game of A-Z! Until tomorrow…

A Sunset From Any Angle.

December 27, 2009

1. the setting or descent of the sun below the horizon in the evening.
2. the atmospheric and scenic phenomena accompanying this.
3. the time when the sun sets.
4. the close or final stage of any period.
Here are two pictures of the sunset today. The first one is in NH and the second one in VA.
Pretty amazing, right?
4 more days ‘o blogging in 2009. Oh how fun it has been.

Don’t Worry Your Life Away

December 26, 2009

Well Jason Mraz said it best, “I won’t  worry my life away” in his song The Remedy. When you are stressed out, or freaked out about something anything, try and stop yourself. Nothing good comes from worry. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Puffy eyes and headaches come from worrying. Haha. It’s like the good book said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

So, post-Christmas when all of the holly and jolly’s can quickly disappear…and the anxiety can start to build up…try and fight it. And if you can’t fight it alone, find a friend to keep you sane…because that will help.

No stress for the rest of 2009!!!

Christmas Morning PJ’s

December 25, 2009

One of my (kate’s) favorite parts of Christmas morning is rocking some festive holiday PJ’s. Yup. True story. Every year I get a new pair and whip them out for Christmas. This year I’m wearing a bright red adult onesie complete with the footsie part and all…so comfy…I might just start wearing them all year round. Here is a pic of the footsie part:

Man, is it just me or is “footsie” really fun to say? Haha. Hope everyone is feeling loved this Christmas day. xoxo -k & j

Christmas Eve is here…clean out those chimneys!

December 24, 2009

Okay, so I’ve spent a little (lot) of time in places like Wal-Mart and Target over the past few days (weeks) and I’ve noticed a few things.

1. Whoever decided to put Starbucks in Target stores and Dunkin Donuts in Wal-Mart stores is a genius (caffeine addict.)

2. Kids get it. They know the real deal…i’m pretty sure. I’ve heard on a few occasions this week kids say something along the lines of “I hope Santa’s going to bring me a truck (Wii) for Christmas…do you think he will, Dad? Cause I think he will. I’m sure he will, Dad!”

Now, kids are little (crazy) people, but I think they get how the whole thing works because to me it’s more of a passive-aggressive ‘hint-hint/nudge-nudge’ than an innocent question for ol’ Daddio. They want what they want and I think (know) they secretly know who’s getting it for them. Kids are smarter (cooler) than we give them credit for most (most) of the time.

3. People (I) drive like maniacs this time of year. Of course, the rest of the year I’m a perfect (less than perfect) driver and treat everyone with the decency and courtesy (ahem) that they deserve. But put people (me) in a car in December and I’m crazy! Why? I don’t know. I guess I just love joining the world in the whole Peace on Earth extravaganza!

This is random and weird, but it’s Christmas Eve so go with it! Hope everyone has a great night tonight! I’m off to wrap wrap wrap…and maybe rap. Who knows.

Until next time. -j.

Emo Glasses

December 23, 2009

So these glasses were floating around the bus all tour and we had lots of fun putting them on and laughing…a lot! So have a laugh with us at how funny we look in our emo glasses. Happy day before Christmas Eve. – j&k-

Gingerbread House

December 22, 2009

This was my (kate’s) attempt to make a Gingerbread House with my two 10 year old brothers and my 2 year old niece. They say that they are “easy to assemble” on the box, but they are really a little more difficult to put together…please see picture above. I mean our house looks like it could be in the running for the Extreme Home Make-Over Gingerbread Edition. The funniest thing was that my niece almost took a huge bite right out of the roof before we even got started. Haha.

So if you are bored and want a funny challenge, go pick up a $10 dollar Gingerbread House making kit and and see what fun you can have.

Haven’t slept in 36 plus hours…

-k (& j too)

(i am in New England where it is COLD, but cozy! Have not slept in 36 hours and counting…other than the 2 hours on the plane, but i don’t know if i’d really call that sleep per se…but happy to be with my family and near the ocean again. Nice Gingerbread house Kate! Maybe i will try to make one too and post my pic…who knows??) -j
