A Letter From Us

Hello Friends!

We have had an amazing time seeing so many of our international friends and fans this past month while touring with Kelly in Australia and the UK. Thanks for being so supportive all over the world!

We’ve been singing back-up for Kelly Clarkson for nearly 6 years, and it’s been quite an exciting ride!  In fact, many of you have been following us since day one, and have become supporters of our j&k music because you heard or saw us singing with Kelly.

We have decided that it is time for us to work full-time on JillandKate music, though we will miss not touring with our KC family terribly. There is so much good stuff happening in j&k world, and we want to commit 100% of our time to developing our music and getting to know more fans like you!

We will be playing several “JillandKate” shows through the rest of 2012 and we will be touring the US in 2013 to play the new songs from Heart Of Stone! We also have some fun contests coming up. 🙂 We are so grateful for your support which lets us be creative and do what we love to do!

We love the KC band and crew!  They have become some of our best friends and are truly like our second family. We’ve had an unbelievable time traveling the world with them and getting to do what we love!

To Kelly:

We love you like crazy! We are so grateful to you for giving us this opportunity and for all that we have learned from you and continue to learn from you along the way. You are one of our best friends and we are blessed to have you in our lives.

To the Band & Crew:

You are as a whole and individually–the best people around. Your knowledge and talent is endless and we have had the BEST time with all of you over the past several years. Thank you for being our second family in this crazy world!

To Our Fans:

As we get ready to perform our final show tomorrow night with Kelly in London, we are filled with emotion! We will miss seeing your friendly faces in the KC audience, but hope that we will see you at our shows when we come to your cities!

Thank YOU for believing in what we do and for helping us continue to grow and expand JillandKate! We are excited to see what the future holds.

Much love,

-jillandkate-

I know you will both go on to bigger and better things as you are truly beautiful people inside and out and it shows in everything you do. Just promise us that one day there will be a reunion tour! Best of luck ladies and head to the Midwest – so. west Missouri or so. east Kansas would be fantastic!

  17. Selena Says:

Though I saw the foreshadowing in your “Keepin’ It Country” interview, I wasn’t necessarily expecting this event so soon, and now that I know it’s really happening, I’m even more saddened. 😦

I’m reminded of the episode of Friends where Rachel has to move out of Monica’s apartment, because Chandler is going to live with her instead. “I mean, it’s the end of an era!”

I guess I’m still trying to process this, and am not quite sure of what to say. Oh, and now, I’m tearing up. Sigh. I want to thank you for being such amazing friends and back up singers for Kelly. It’s been a pleasure getting to know y’all as awesome artists and women. Though you will be missed with Camp Clarkson, I hope to continue following you on the J&K journey, and wish you the best in your duo endeavors.

  18. Jasmine (@jasmo16) Says:

CONGRATS Jill and Kate! So Bittersweet… But, WOW! What a ride! You have so much to look back on and yet there’s so much to look forward too! We are SUPER STOKED for you both on your new adventures and will be praying for you guys HUGE!

    CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Jill i Kate opuszczają zespół | Kelly Clarkson Polska Says:

[…] Jutrzejszy koncert w Londynie będzie ich ostatnim. Na swoim blogu Jill i Kate zamieściły list (przeczytaj całość) skierowany do fanów, zespołu i samej Kelly, w którym dziękują jej za wspólnie spędzony czas […]

  20. skinnyellie Says:

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you two amazingly talented girls. I wish you nothing but the best, and support you in everything you decide to do 🙂

  21. emmjay2662 Says:

Also, I would like to voice one additional thought-slash-hope-slash-request-slash admonition that was, until now, kept private.

Ok, but seriously- I was begging (in my head, of course) these last few tours for KC to do a JILLANDKATE cover already!!! Did it happen and I missed it? Because it needs to happen.

Also, I hope y’all seriously hop back on stage with KC every now and then, only this time front and center, and sing some of YOUR STUFF. Cause Your Stuff is just GOOD. The harmonies are sick. The writing is amazing.

And I think Kelly’s fan-base almost universally would approve. (Those who wouldn’t-screw ’em- haha, just kidding!!!) Anyway, it would be a win-win-win, or would have been. I tend to think there is no such things as completely missed opportunities- but rather, the chance to make a new opportunity. So I hope the chance comes up again, or is created. It would be great to see.

    That’s all for now,
    All my best,

And Kelly- if I wake up tomorrow miraculously able to carry a tune- haha- I’m coming to audition! Haha, but that would be some serious miracle…

  22. emmjay2662 Says:

Love and support to you Jill & Kate! This is an exciting day for Music. Yall are amaz-az-ingly talented and you’ve really earned this. I can’t wait to see and hear more from you.

There. I said it. Had to overcome my insides being all knotted up and jumbled. Cause it’s freaking sad for us too. We love our KC Family Just The Way It Is… but sigh. Okay, back to happy thoughts and all our support.

Keep getting your music out there to music supervisors, too, cause *damn* a lot of your songs play really well to certain scripted tv moments in a serendipitous sort of way. Just sayin.

  23. Brianna Vacca Says:

I’m so sad that your not gonna be with kelly anymore but I’m also extremely happy for you guys! Lot of love sent from Bri!

    Sent from my iPhone

  27. Shari Says:

Congatulations this exciting new adventure! I pray all your dreams come true. Kelly and crew will NO doubt miss you 2 like crazy! I am sure it will be hard for all of you not to be together all the time. But like you mentioned Kelly is one of your best friends as well as the band and true friends will remain inyour life no matter your direction. And I have no doubt they support your dream!!

Guessing Kelly needs to replace Kate as her help-I think it should be ME!!! Or I can be yours:)

I truely wish the best for you two an hope your dreams come true. Sad for Kelly and crew! I can only imagine there were a lof of tears.

Did you already have your last show with Kelly?

  28. Alison Says:

  31. Jacki Says:

Good luck! LOVE your music but will be sad not to see you on the KC stage anymore! Glad to be able to give you a proper send-off at Wembley tomorrow! Looking forward to some J&K shows in London in the future!

  32. Esther Says:

May this next step in your life fill you with peace & fun & creativity! I hope to see you sometime play in The Netherlands (or Germany). Big hug & Blessings.

  33. Regine Says:

I commented on this on facebook, already, but I really wanted to leave my comment here too, because for me, this blog was the first place where my fan-ship (is that a word? It is now, lol) for you two really began.
This is bittersweet news for me. I’ve seen you sing with Kelly for the last 5+ years and right away thought you were a great fit with the KC band/crew/family. I quickly became a fan of your music and have watched you ladies grow in that time personally, professionally, sonically.
I’ve personally seen you sing for Kelly in concert twice, and both times wish I could’ve met you to show and tell you of my support for you two, although I know you ladies have seen and felt it just by looking into the crowds and through social media. Both times, I was just as excited to see you two as part of KC’s band as I was to see her – your presence helped make MY concert experience what it was. It truly won’t be the same without you!
While it’ll be sad to no longer see you sing for Kelly, and for me to not have the opportunity to support you on the J&K street team for Kelly’s shows, I also fully embrace your vision, hopes, dreams, and goals for your music and careers – whatever path you choose to go down to achieve it. I know you have had many awesome “wildest-dream-come-true” kinds of experiences already and that there are so much more amazing things awaiting you, risks to take and rewards to reap, and so many ways for me to continue to support you and be a part of this ride. This is the first step in that direction.
I’m excited to see what the future holds for JillandKate and us fans. I’m excited for more music and shows (hopefully ones I can attend!) and just JillandKate in general!
Sing your hearts out on stage with Kelly one last time, ladies! Sing loud and proud when you play London and know you have the voices of so many fans singing along with you – in person and in spirit – and carrying you into the next chapter of JillandKate music.

  34. Myriam Says:

Aww, this is bittersweet. For the past few years, every time I bought tickets to a Kelly show, I would make sure I bought my tickets for the side of the stage you guys were on… because I was equally excited to see you guys. Kelly and the two of you are my favorite singers of all-time, so having the three of you together on stage was perfect. It was like a 2-for-1 deal. Or 3-for-1.

That being said, I’m happy for you guys and I wish you the best! 🙂

  35. Jaclyn Says:

As weird as it will be without you guys in the background at KC shows, I’m equally as excited for JK-centric stuff 🙂 Heart of Stone is brilliant and I hope to see you guys at your shows in the future. I wish you guys all the best and if there are any midwest shows I will try my hardest to be there 🙂

  36. Randy Says:

    Good Luck!You’ll will kick a**!

  37. Livie Mae Says:

Congrats! Hope you’re able to play at some venues that allow under 21 yrs old to attend..wasn’t able to see you in Boston cuz I’m only 15.

  39. Julie aka MomCycFan Says:

I just adore you girls. I just know you as Jill and Kate, so this is exciting. I am glad you worked for Kelly through this summer or we wouldn’t have met. I look forward to coming to see a show soon. Let me know if I can ever help in any way.

  40. Boston_Holly Says:

Like many others have said before, this is bittersweet, but I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you both. You both are so wonderfully talented and I’m excited to support you as you embark on all things Jillandkate!

  41. E Says:

Your first year with KC was my first year as a KC fan. I do not know KC’s band without you both as a part of it.
Since that year I have seen you perform almost 50 times with KC and 5 times on your own.
I am glad that I was lucky enough to see you perform this past weekend in London. It is actually pretty delightful to see you and and KC sing 3 part harmony together whether in your home or a bathroom stall via youtube or live and in person on a stage 3 feet in front of my face.
I am excited to now follow your music into the next phase and wish you every success that you shoot for.

  42. Rose Says:

This is one of those times where the new is happy and sad at the same time. I cried just a little knowing that you werent going to be part of the KC Team anymore. We all grew to love you from how perfectly you fit there, but having been a fan of JillandKate for so long now, it’s wonderful to hear that you are heading out on your own because you have so much to bring to the music world. Best of luck, and I hope I get the chance to be at many of your shows and the ocassional surprise visit at a future KC Show! Best of luck on the next part of your journey!
